This year marked a major milestone for a member of our Sedgefield branch, Julie Ann, who recently hit 40 years with Hays Travel. We got in touch with Julie Ann to ask her a couple of questions about her experience being with us for such a long time - and this is what she told us. ⤵️
We asked her what her career highlight has been so far, and she told us that "seeing the company grow and become what it is today" was the best thing she's seen. Fantastic!
We then wanted to know, what's motivated her to stay with us for such a period of time, where she stated that "the family feel, confidence in the management, and the company values" keep her going in her day to day life.
She's been here for every conference so far, attending every one of them! We asked her what her favourite educational trips were, and unable to decide, she told us "Dubai, Canada, Australia & Hong Kong" were her favourites. What a selection!

Back in August where we announced that Rachel from our Recruitment team won an amazing £5000 cruise as a part of the Big Hays Travel Thank You! ?
Well Rachel and her partner Paul recently set sail on the Atlantic Ocean and headed to the golden shores of the Caribbean with Celebrity cruises! We caught up with her where she told us all about her amazing travels (and let's just say we're more than a little bit jealous). ?
"I honestly couldn’t believe it when I won! I was in shock for a good while but once it sunk in it was so exciting deciding which ship we wanted to go on and where to travel to. We wanted to ensure it was something special in order to make the most of the opportunity! Planning our excursions and looking forward to the trip was as thrilling as winning!"
Travelling aboard the Celebrity Edge, Rachel had nothing but praise! "The ship itself was out of this world with 5* food and drinks! The Martini and The Sunset Bar were firm favourites and the four main dining rooms were excellent, we also enjoyed sampling a few of the speciality restaurants."
And she certainly knows how to make the most of her vaycay days...
"We LOVED being able to explore and visit different places everyday! One of our favourite trips was to the Boatyard beach Club in Barbados where we had the amazing experience of snorkelling with the turtles." ?
"On Sea days it was great to relax by the pool in the scorching sun. Followed by a late afternoon cocktail on our balcony watching the sunset before our evening meal." Doesn't it sound like the dream?! ?
"We felt very spoilt on the whole trip! So much so, we are already planning our next trip with Celebrity Cruise as it really was a holiday of a lifetime!"

Dylan from our Social Media Team returned from an all inclusive educational trip, sailing onboard Emerald Princess - stopping off in Cork and Dublin.
Dylan only started his role in Social Media in February 2022, and by June 2022, he was already offered the opportunity to explore and enjoy a luxury cruise.
"It was my first cruise, so I had no idea what to expect" he said when asked about his experience. "I'd never even seen a cruise ship in person before, but when I saw the size of it parked up at the dock in Southampton, I knew it was going to be surreal."
We asked Dylan how going on this journey will affect his work, where he told us that "it's given me valuable first hand experience about a type product that I work closely with, and it's given me loads of ideas of how to market this product in the future."
He concluded with "I'll definitely be looking to book another cruise in the near future, a big thank you to Hays Travel for giving me the opportunity to go on my first cruise."

"I started with Hays Travel in August 2017 at the Darlington Centre Branch. I can say I would have never have thought when I took my apprenticeship that I would now be a manager of my own store.
The apprenticeship was the best thing I ever did for my career. I was able to learn on the job, all whilst earning a salary. Hays has always given me the support I have needed and opportunities to learn and grow. I was promoted to Assistant Manager in 2021 and I was able to implement my ideas into the branch which then led me to progressing to Branch Manager in 2022.
I would not be where I am today without the support of the Learning and Development team and the amazing staff that work within the company. I highly recommend the Hays Travel Apprenticeship; you can achieve so much."
